Looking for something entertaining to do near the Inland Empire this weekend? Claremont welcomes out-of-town visitors and Southern California locals to enjoy our arts, music and outdoor events. From Friday Nights Live to the Midsummer Shakespeare Festival, our calendar is chock full of rousing events and annual festivals.
There’s something fun to do for everyone. The weekly Claremont Farmers and Artisans Market every Sunday is the largest of its kind in the region. For arts and crafts lovers, there’s the monthly First Saturday Art Walk and the Village Venture Arts & Crafts Faire in October.
Families flock to events such as Things That Go Bump in the Night at California Botanic Garden in October and Inland Pacific Ballet’s The Nutcracker in December. And nature enthusiasts can celebrate and discover the beauty of various native plants at the Annual Wild Flower Show and Festival in April and other botanic garden events.

Luminaria Nights at California Botanic Garden
December 8-10 & 15-16, 2023
California Botanic Garden’s winter lights experience returns this December, highlighting the quiet evening beauty of CalBG’s unique native plant gardens. Luminaria Nights is like no other holiday light show in Southern California, featuring peaceful luminaria- and string light-lined
paths linking three beautifully illuminated musical venues. New this year: Members Only Preview Night on Friday December 8th, lights and music celebrating CalBG’s brand new Bird & Butterfly Garden, a food truck and bar each night, and two new illuminated art installations only on view during Luminaria Nights.
Musical performers include Steve Rushingwind (Native American flutes, Dec. 8, 9, 15, & 16), Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble (Early choral music, Dec. 16), Pheobe Madison Schrafft (Harp, Dec. 9, 10 & 15), Anamaria De La Cruz & Ensemble (Original songs and covers in English & Spanish, Dec. 10), ShamaMamahS (Folk trio, Dec. 8), Celia Hollander and Floating (Electronic soundscapes, Dec. 10), and The Jazz Doctors (Dec. 15 & 16).
Art installations include a dynamic water and light laser projection by Lachlan Turczan and a glowing projection of UV light native plant photographs by Craig Burrows.
Luminaria Nights is open for five nights only from 6-9 p.m. each night: December 8, 9, 10, 15 & 16. December 8 is open to CalBG Members only and features a VIP reception for Acorn and Family Plus level members.
Tickets are $20 Public Adult, $15 Public Student (w/ ID)/Senior/Child (3-12), $15 CalBG Member Adult, or $10 CalBG Member Student (w/ ID)/Senior/Child (3-12).
